Twisted Magic @ The Black Swan

Saturday 30th October 2004
Review by Siren Lorraine

The Sirenz launch night was at a new psy-trance night called Twisted Magic, which was held at the Black Swan in Bristol on the 30 th October 2004.

The night was a huge success. From the moment we walked in, until the last tune had been spun, the Black Swan was filled to capacity with hundreds of like-minded people enjoying the best of what psy-trance has to offer.

The Sirenz dancers were Michelle, Heather, Cat, Rosie, Beccy and myself. Upon arrival we got up on stage in the main room and danced to Toad, Tron and Timmer, and heading upstairs in between to hear some of Cyclone and Geoff.

I caught the start of DJ Pod’s set upstairs before heading back to the main room to dance to Matt-V’s Live PA; he certainly had the whole room moving, it was truly inspiring! I later headed back upstairs to catch one of my personal psy-trance favourites, Morph, who certainly did not let us down. The last hour of the night found me back on stage alongside the other performers and promoters for the spectacular Dr Psy.

The music and the atmosphere were electric from beginning to end, the UV environment was stunning and the other performers looked great. I really enjoyed our interactions with some of the other performers both on stage and off. The weather was beautiful, which was perfect for the outdoor area of the Black Swan, where fire jugglers and devil-stick performers were brightening up proceedings dancing near the huge bonfire in the courtyard.

I was thoroughly impressed that so many of the people who attended had made a real effort to get dressed up for this Halloween event, which added that extra special touch to an already enchanting night.
