Twisted Magic @ The Black SwanSaturday 16th April 2005 My first outing with Sirenz as a dancer and not a behind the scenes person was the latest offering from the Freefall Monkey crew - Twisted Magic - Angels and Demons at the Black Swan. Sirenz dancers were Lorraine, Becky, Claire, Kerry and myself. Kerry and I were a bundle of nerves as it was our first outing dancing in brand new costumes, I have to say Kerry did rather better than I by losing all nerves and jumping up on stage and pulling off some crazy moves, well done that girl, but to my credit I think I kept the pace all night bouncing to some really superb sounding music and hopefully keeping some people amused. We arrived to find Morph (Planet Shroom) playing in the main room, and we quickly got on the dancefloor, its amazing the effect a few dancers who are prepared to move around the middle of the floor does to people, within moments the room was moving! I took this opportunity to roam around the dancefloor and look at the new décor that had been painted by Andy (Dr Psy - Freefall Monkey) in preparation for the party, all very impressive it added a professional edge to the party. Wicki (Phar-Psyde) was playing in the second room and I decided to go up and test the floor, I wasn't disappointed, it was busy and everyone was loving the atmosphere created by her its always good to see some ladies behind the decks and I spent some time stomping with the crowd. Last stop on my mini tour was to the chillout where Blissphil was playing and already people were chatting and meeting up, I could sense it would be a lovely party and headed back downstairs to get my stomp on where a! shoal of lovely Ozmaids were dancing. Morphs last tune rocked the dancefloor, and he finished ready for Toad (Toadstool) to take over, Toad's set was hard n heavy as he is becoming known for, demonic beats which suited the mood, people upped the pace and rocked out. The party had filled up nicely and there seemed to be a lot happening all around, lots of faces from the psy scene far and wide, its great to know that there are people willing to travel to parties all over the country and I spent a little time chatting to people to find out where they had travelled from, people of all ages and from all backgrounds coming together from far and wide provides me with all the evidence I need that with this scene in our hands we are becoming more of a unified family, these findings through the night made me smile and fuelled my desire to perform I can't thank everyone enough for the endless supply of that good feeling!! With a few groups of performers booked for the evening, it became easier for us to travel around the party and when you and your friends are dressed head to toe in UV flames its not hard to spot your mates, as the music throughout the night appealed to all us girls at different times it seemed that there was a siren for every occasion, which I think worked out well as it meant that all rooms had at least one of us dancing throughout the night. It was also Ian's (Sirenz amazing photographer) birthday weekend I hope he had as much fun as we did and didn't work too hard trying to catch me on camera! After some wandering around trying to be in all the rooms at once (the music was good everywhere!!) I caught Timmer (Tribe of Frog) in the main room, I gave it my best shot but after about half an hour of punishing moves, tiredness overcame and I reluctantly gave in and wandered up to chill out and catch up with some of the other girls, after a rest my energy was revived and I dragged myself away from the Chillout where the lovely Michael aka Seagoblin (Tribe of Frog) was providing a head massage via music back to the main room for Liquid Ross' (Liquid Connective) set. Ross didn't disappoint and watching the hypnotic moves provided by the enchanting Ozmaids was a real treat. Too soon it seemed to be over but I was quickly refuelled by Psychosonic (Tribe of Frog) who kept the dancefloor moving until lights up. A wonderful first night for me, my feet ache, my back aches, my face aches from all the smiles and my brain aches from wondering what I missed as there was so much happening at all times!! One minor downside was the amount of strobe used in the main room, it tended to force me out to dance in the side room at times but didn't seem to bother the masses too much. On the other hand, amazing lazers, I spent a lot of time chasing little green spots around the room *big smiles* Thanks to everyone involved for such an amazing night look forward to seeing you all again soon.
